of Northwest Missouri Independence Visitors Center |

The Visitors Center is located on the Southeast corner of River and Walnut Streets, on a portion of the original temple lot purchased by Bishop Partridge in 1831.
A mural sized version of Harry Anderson's
"The Second Coming" greets visitors.

The Historical Exhibit is on the basement floor of the Visitors Center. As you come down the stairs, you are met by this cabin facade which introduces the exhibit.
The historic part of the Visitors Center describes Jacksonian America and the political state of the county at the time, followed by a short history of the New York Period of Church History, and a very interesting look at the Prophet.
